FT. LAUDERDALE,
FL - April 4, 2008 - /MarketWire/ - OmniComm
Systems, Inc.
(OTC: OMCM.OB), a leader in integrated electronic
data capture (EDC) solutions for
clinical trials, today announced that OmniComm will
partner with Logos Technologies and create an integrated
solution with ALPHADAS®, the premier electronic
data capture solution designed specifically for Phase
I clinical trials. The combined technologies will
be available for use by customers using the TrialMasterÔ,
First in Functionality, EDC solution. The collaboration
will allow customers that are
conducting clinical research in Phase I to take advantage
of a clinical study management and fully mobile electronic
data capture system to capture data directly from
the patientís bedside. For those clients running
Phase I-IV clinical studies, the combination will
unify the capture, reporting, exporting and archival
of
clinical data into a common, costeffective, web-based,
user-interface. The final warehouse for data may
reside in SQL, Oracle ClinicalÆ database tables or
in SAS®.
"One
of the fastest growing segments for EDC adoption
in clinical trials is in the Phase I area. The report
from Health Industry Insights, U.S. Electronic
Data Capture 2006-2011- Spending Forecast
and Analysis, predicts that growth is expected to
more than double in the US alone over the next two
to three years," said Stephen Johnson, Chief Operating
Officer for OmniComm.

"The
interface between Logos Technologies and OmniComm
will offer a superior and dynamic EDC solution
for customers that are focused on Phase I clinical
trials and deliver an excellent addition to our
suite of targeted, integrated solutions for our
existing customers. The
integration of OmniCommís TrialMaster and Logos
Technologies ALPHADAS extends the capabilities
for data collected from ALPHADAS to be combined
with clinical data imported from other outside
sources. This combined data may then be exported,
archived and made available to our clients in
various reports and reporting formats. It also
offers
our clients running Phase I-IV clinical studies a
common, cost-effective, web-based, interface to
use across
their enterprise."
"Phase
I clinical studies are unique in the way that
they are conducted and they
need versatile solutions that are focused
on the challenges that are inherent to the Phase
I
setting. ALPHADAS first launched over 10 years
ago has assisted clients to run hundreds of studies
quicker and more efficiently said Giles Wilson,
Business and Operations Director for Logos. "The
need for real time data capture in Phase I studies
continues to increase, drug development companies
are looking for solutions that will produce faster
access to data and earlier go / no go decisions
while
reducing costs throughout the whole Phase
I process. The partnership between Logos Technologies
and OmniComm now offers companies a way to truly
benefit from EDC from the very onset of their trial
through to database lock."
